It seems to me things would be more peaceful on this earth if people in all the different religions could be treated equal. If they could all get along and maybe become one religion. What does the Bible say about that?
Many people wonder about this. Seems this could be a logical approach to peace. Right? But the Bible says this won’t work for a number of reasons . . .
There is only one true God: the God of the Bible.
This is what the Lord says—Israel’s King and Redeemer, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies: “I am the First and the Last; there is no other God. (Isaiah 44:6)
“So, what about eating meat that has been offered to idols? Well, we all know that an idol is not really a god and that there is only one God.There may be so-called gods both in heaven and on earth, and some people actually worship many gods and many lords. But we know that there is only one God, the Father, who created everything, and we live for him. And there is only one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom God made everything and through whom we have been given life.” (1 Corinthians 8:4-6)
This one true God exists in the form of the Trinity. This Trinity is comprised of the three persons of the Godhead: Father, Son (Jesus Christ), and Holy Spirit. These three are one God, the same in substance and are equal in power and glory.
“After his baptism, as Jesus came up out of the water, the heavens were opened and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and settling on him.And a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.’” (Matthew 3:16–17)
Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)
God loves every person so much that Jesus came to earth to live and then to die. On the cross, He paid the penalty for our sins. Some people believe that there are many ways to God, many ways to heaven, but Jesus made it clear there is only one way—through Him.
“We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are. For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood.” (Romans 3:22-25 NLT)
“Jesus told him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.'” (John 14:6)
Yes, there is only one God and one way to Him. But because of God’s love, that way is open to all who will receive the gift of forgiveness and life that come only through Jesus Christ.
